An absolute is not simply a stronger essential oil. Solvent extraction recovers heavier, less volatile molecules that steam distillation cannot carry over, and it avoids exposing thermally fragile flowers to boiling water. For jasmine, tuberose and narcissus, extraction is the only route to a usable material at all.
