Osmanthus absolute, solvent-extracted from the small orange flowers of Osmanthus fragrans. One of the most distinctive naturals available, and one of the few that spans fruity, floral and leathery registers simultaneously.

The apricot character comes principally from ionones and lactones present in the flower. Alongside it sits a dry tea-like facet and a suede-leather undertone that gives the material unusual structural usefulness.

Production is concentrated in China and the harvest window is short.
