Orange blossom absolute, produced by hexane extraction of bitter orange flowers to a concrete, then alcohol washing to remove waxes.

Extraction recovers heavier molecules that steam distillation cannot carry over, which is why the absolute is sweeter, more honeyed and considerably more indolic than neroli from the same flower. It is also far more tenacious, holding on a blotter for days.

A dark orange, viscous material that may thicken when cold. Warm gently and homogenise before weighing.
