The routes
- Beira corridor
- Road and rail from Harare and Mutare to Beira — the main outlet for Zimbabwe's spodumene and petalite concentrates, chrome and other bulk minerals.
- Nacala corridor
- Rail from Malawi and the Moatize area to the deep-water port of Nacala. Graphite from the Balama mine in Cabo Delgado is trucked to Nacala for export.
- Pemba
- A smaller port closer to the Cabo Delgado graphite and ruby districts.

What to plan for
- Security in parts of Cabo Delgado affects road routes; producers use escorted convoys and insurers price the risk.
- Zimbabwe bans the export of raw lithium ore and plans to require local processing of concentrate — check export rules.
- Cyclone season (roughly November to April) can close ports and roads for days.
