Compliance · Gold

Gold: the strictest trade we run.

Gold combines every risk in the mineral trade — money laundering, smuggling, conflict financing and fraud. We trade it only between approved counterparties, with evidence at every step.

Our controls

  • Gold offers are visible only to verified companies that we have separately approved for gold.
  • Gold requests require a signed-in business account.
  • Every lot needs an accepted export licence and mine-of-origin evidence before it can be published.
  • Doré goes to a refinery accredited under the LBMA Good Delivery list or an equivalent standard, which performs its own due diligence.

Standards buyers expect

LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance
Required of Good Delivery refiners: supply-chain due diligence aligned with the OECD guidance, independently audited.
OECD Gold Supplement
Specific guidance for gold, including artisanal and small-scale mining.
National export channels
Several producer countries route artisanal gold exports through a central bank or state agency — for example Ghana's GoldBod, created in 2025.

Common frauds

Offers of gold 'at a discount to LBMA', requests for advance fees for certificates or storage, and documents from unverifiable refineries. We do not deal in any of them.
